McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Ford Motor Company Engineering Design Center
85,000 SF Engineering School comprising of four stories above grade with offices, classrooms, conference rooms, computer labs, “Team Project” areas and two stories below grade with wet laboratories, fabrication, welding and cutting areas and a CAVE room. The building includes a central atrium to be utilized in conjunction with energy saving daylighting systems, for all four floors above grade and one floor below grade. The Project employs a raised floor displacement air HVAC system, and includes a garage and fabrication area for research in solar powered cars.
