PROJECT EXPERIENCE

CLEVELAND CLINIC FOUNDATION
Weston, Florida

Weston Hospital Building Project. Communications engineering services for subsystems required for a new 233,000 SF Hospital and 220,000 SF Doctors Office Building. Work includes underground communications service entry, PBX room make-ready, computer room make-ready, outside plant and inter-building cabling, Tel/Data structure cabling plan, PBX Telephone System, LAN hubs and switches and Wide Area Networking (WAN).


CLEVELAND CLINIC
Naples, Florida

Hospital and Clinic Facility. Tel/Data consulting engineering services including telephone cable plant, LAN horizontal and backbone cabling, and system components. In addition, BR+A is working with the CCF network services staff to specify cabling, PBX hardware and LAN hub electronics throughout both the new clinic buildings.


THE METROHEALTH SYSTEM
Cleveland, Ohio

Peri-operative and Integrated Lab Facility. Telephone and Data cabling specification and scope of work section for inclusion in the General Contractors Construction Documents (CD) set. The document includes the Contractor Tel/Data Scope of Work and Contractor Coordination Requirements. Specifications were written for materials requirements and installation criteria including labeling, testing and acceptance.


PARTNERS HEALTHCARE - SPAULDING REHABILITATION HOSPITAL
Boston, Massachusetts

PBX System Replacement and Cutover. On-site project management services to include scheduling of various project phases and milestones. Coordinated with the hospital's MIS staff and department representatives to achieve the goals and objectives required by the hospital. Prepared reports, survey notes, pictures and detailed sketches to illustrate and provide installation recommendations during the project. Attended project meetings to monitor progress and report back to the hospital MIS Staff and assisted the hospital during the sign-off phases of projects to gather records and systems operation manuals and documentation, including as-built drawings.


CAMBRIDGE PUBLIC HEALTH COMMISSION (Cambridge and Somerville Hospitals)
Cambridge, Massachusetts

Strategic Communications Master Plan. Comprehensive scope of work involved a telephone riser study and cable plant upgrade recommendation for buildings on three main sites. Also provided a study of the existing Centrex service and made recommendations for 10-year plan. Project resulted in the development of and RFP to replace the current Centrex service with PBX systems throughout the affiliated Cambridge and Somerville sites over the next two years.


BRANDEIS UNIVERSITY
Waltham, Massachusetts

Campus-Wide Network Upgrade. Underground manhole survey for the communications duct system. Documentation included telephone, Data and CATV for over seventy buildings campus-wide, including two railroad right-of-ways. BR+A also provided building structured cabling design and room make-ready drawings and specifications for thirty-two dormitory buildings for rewiring in the summer of 1998.


OBERLIN COLLEGE
Oberlin, Ohio

New Science Facility. New 220,000 SF Science and Physics building project including both new construction, renovation and demolition phases for a project completion in 2002. The facility is designed to coordinate the installation of both current and future technologies such as 10/100 BaseT, Gigabit Ethernet, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) and wireless networks. The cable infrastructure will be based on copper unshielded-twisted pair (UTP) and fiber optic, as well as enhanced conduit and raceways for future unknown systems.


HARVARD MEDICAL SCHOOL LONGWOOD CAMPUS
Boston, Massachusetts

Fiber Optic Survey and Upgrade Report. Survey of existing inter-building fiber optic cabling system for data communications. Developed report and recommendation for protection of cables against damage and specified a redundant loop in order to prevent any network downtime in the future.


WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MEDICINE
St. Louis, Missouri

PBRB Tel / Data. Tel/Data Communications Distribution Design to assist the communication systems design team during the new 220,000 SF Pediatric Research Facility construction project. Responsibilities include design and specification of voice and data cabling and connectivity, including workstation and backbone components. Work also includes underground communications service entry, equipment room make-ready and outside plant and inter-building cabling.


LAFAYETTE COLLEGE
Easton, Pennsylvania

Olin Hall Science Facility. Tel/Data Cabling Design and Construction Administration for the new and renovated portions of Olin Hall. The project consists of approximately 95,000 SF on four floors housing offices, classrooms and research labs. Project involves an existing portion for renovation, areas of demolition and new construction. Responsible to define both inside telephone and data cabling, as well as outside plant cabling requirements to provide connectivity to the campus backbone. Design considerations included network hubs a fiber optic building backbone system and high-speed LAN/Data cabling to each office, lab and classroom area.


UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA
Greensboro, North Carolina

Undergraduate Science Facility. Assisted UNCG Facilities Design and Construction with the development of a structured wiring system documents for the new 140,000 SF Science Facility. Services included review of current campus standards, delivery of schematic and design development documents. BR+A also provided review and recommendations for dedicated communications rooms to accommodate current and future capacities.
