Structured Cabling System Design
BR+A will provide drawings and sketches throughout the design and installation process to ensure that the client has a complete understanding of all components specified and that the contractor installs all components according to the specifications.

  • Fiber optic and copper cable plant design.
  • CADD floorplans showing station locations and numbering.
  • Telephone / data riser diagrams and network backbone schematics.
  • Cable cutover sheets for crosswiring and patching.

Layouts for MDF & IDF
BR+A will meet with the client's vendors and ensure that all special mechanical and electrical requirements for service are clearly defined and documented. This includes equipment and services to both the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) and the Intermediate Distribution Frame (IDF) rooms throughout the facility.

  • Underground tel/data service entry conduits and protected entrance room details.
  • Telco RJ21 Demarcation coordination with both Bell Atlantic and alternate carriers.
  • Room make-ready requirements for power and grounding.
  • Telephone backboard layout and vendor equipment placement coordination.

Equipment Room Plans and Specifications
BR+A will visit existing facilities and work with the client's system manager to gather the information necessary to relocate or design any new computer room, lab or specialty server room. This includes coordination of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing specifications with the equipment manufacturers and the design team.
