Medical University of South Carolina, Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women's Pavilion

New 610,000 SF replacement facility of the existing Children's Hospital. The new building will be physically connected to Ashley River Tower on two levels via bridges, sharing services such as nuclear medicine and central sterile processing. In addition to a relocated pediatric emergency department, hospital programs will include cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology, endoscopy, radiology/fluoroscopy, and imaging services (CT, MRI). The pavilion will provide 12 operating rooms (nine dedicated to pediatrics) and 98 medical/surgical beds, as well as procedure rooms, pediatric clinical exam rooms, labor/delivery/recovery rooms, antepartum/postpartum/gynecology beds, pediatric critical care unit, neonatal intensive care unit, and a nursery. Hospital parking garage access will be provided via a pedestrian bridge connector. A helicopter pad will also be provided.
