Located on the Delray Medical Center Campus, the new 40,000 SF Radiation Therapy Center consists of Varian’s ProBeam® Compact single-room system and two Linacc rooms. The proton system utilizes a single 250 MeV rated super conducting cyclotron accelerator supporting a compact rotating gantry. The LEED energy-cost savings is 7%, even though the equipment loads represent 71% of the total building energy cost.  With the baseline equipment energy consumption removed from the calculation, the building achieves an energy savings of 22%.  The most impactful energy conservation measure is the premium efficiency chiller plant in the building.
