As part of a 5-7 year phased capital renewal plan, BR+A was hired as the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Protection engineer for the design and construction of new emergency substations, distribution feeders, automatic transfer switches, emergency main distribution panels and vertical bus duct risers. The project will also include re-designing the control system for the new automatic transfer switches to be monitored and controlled from the ASCO Paralleling gear installed in 2013. As part of the renovation projects to be conducted the electrical systems in the impacted areas will be fit-out to become code compliant. The project also includes the design and replacement of approximately (50) air handling units, as well as associated duct systems and terminal boxes, that are original to the existing facility.
