Alabama's first, and only proton therapy center is located on UAB's campus several blocks from the main hospital. The 30,000 SF, freestanding, two-story facility features Varian’s ProBeam® Compact single-room system. The system is comprised of their 250 MeV rated superconducting cyclotron accelerator supporting a compact rotating gantry. Treating patients since 03.2020.
