Whitehead Institute, Infrastructure Improvements
Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for the replacement of major mechanical equipment serving the Whitehead Institute facility at 9 Cambridge Center. Crucial elements of the engineering design include advancing from the existing constant volume system and pneumatic controls to a variable volume system with DDC controls, replacing and optimizing the chiller plant, implementing intelligent heat recovery, upgrading the entire airside infrastructure, and converting from a steam system to a hot water system. Project will be performed in phases to mitigate the impact on ongoing building operations.
