Washington University Medical Center Campus Renewal Project

On this tight urban site, a new 760,000 SF, state-of-the-art, multi-story building complex will be constructed to house adult, children’s, mother and infants, ambulatory and cancer treatment programs including heating, cooling and emergency power generation.  The Adult Tower will include 530,000 SF of new construction and 80,000 SF of renovation work to tie into the existing facility, housing 248 beds (including current shell and alternate bed floors, 16 LDR, 18 Ante-Partum, and 32 Post-Partum) as well as 15 operating rooms (12 general, 3 C-Section).  The Children’s Tower will include 230,000 SF of new construction and 200,000 SF of renovation to the existing facility, housing a total of 96 non-NICU beds (including current shell and alternate bed floors), as well as 80 NICU beds (40 new construction / 40 re-purposed renovation). Additionally, the project involves the construction of a 3,000-car parking garage and the demolition of 500,000 SF of existing hospital buildings.
