  • Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, coding, and approval routing.

BR+A is seeking an experienced Construction Administrator for our Vienna, VA office. This role exercises oversight on the construction phase of engineering projects. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks, be highly organized, have excellent writing skills, demonstrate proficient computer skills, and have a professional and team-oriented demeanor. The applicant must possess:

  • Functional working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems, as well as systems design & construction processes;
  • The ability to work directly with Architects/Owners/Construction Manager Representatives in a hands-on training role for the functional understanding of systems;
  • Prior experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC system integration, TAB disciplines a plus;
  • BS in either of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering.
  • 5+ yrs in a similar role.

BR+A seeks an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer in our Charleston, SC office. Candidates must be strongly motivated, well organized, and show professional initiative. The ability to take ownership of assignments and perform well both independently and as part of the project team is necessary.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong working knowledge of Revit, and their responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality designs and deliverables on technically challenging projects
  • Managing projects, writing proposals, maintaining positive client relationships
  • Providing Engineering, Design work and drafting of plans
  • Implementing approved system concepts from a schematic diagram to floor plans
  • Sketching rough layouts to review with Project Engineer or Project Manager
  • Reviewing product cut sheets and technical information
  • Communicating with Project Manager/Project Engineer regarding potential problems
  • Meeting with vendors to determine spatial requirements for the application of the product
  • Attending meetings as required
  • Submitting the required documentation per project deadlines and milestones
  • Attending in-house coordination meetings when appropriate
  • Developing a strategy to meet the projects’ schedule
  • Assisting in the development of engineering systems concepts (M/E)
  • Assisting the design team on major design issues
  • Organizing required technical correspondence, emails, and calculations
  • Performing fieldwork and verification of existing conditions

  • Delivering high-quality designs and deliverables on technically challenging projects
  • Managing projects, writing proposals, maintaining positive client relationships
  • Performing advanced heating and cooling load calculations with Trace or HAP
  • Developing sections and elevations of complex ductwork and piping areas
  • Developing equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases
  • Editing specifications to reflect the project requirements
  • Developing air and water flows
  • Understanding fan and pump curves to properly select equipment for application
  • Using the psychrometric chart properly for any HVAC system
  • Meeting with vendors to determine specification requirements for application
  • Coordinating with other disciplines (mepfp, arch, struct, etc) for all HVAC details
  • Responding to RFI’s for the project, and accurately review submittals
  • Understanding work planning and managing the design process to the available hours in the work plan
  • Understanding the proper scope of SD, DD, CD level documents and delivering appropriate documentation
  • Modifying sequences of operations for AHU’s, CHW and HW systems
  • Understanding both constant and variable flow systems, and properly applying equipment
  • Meeting with contractors during the bid phase to review the design details
  • Performing field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects
